Moving along with pt. 2 of the November House Sessions, we keep rolling in the deep with a bevy of familiar pop tunes rolled up in dark chocolate.  Then, I couple these with up and coming tunes that are about to hit your favorite bar, club or radio station soon.

I have finally found a balance between the discontinued Mixtape series that I had been churning out and the ongoing Funky House series I’ve been making since the beginning of Party Favorz.  Obviously, house music has evolved but it’s not always about the funk or boogie.  Sometimes, it’s about the cool steady beat that drops from 128 BPM down to 115 BPM that keeps your head bopping and hips moving.  By incorporating elements of both, I am better able to satisfy my own personal lust for all things house, while keeping the flow steady and maintaining interest throughout (at least I’d like to think so).

I’m dropping a bomb surprise later next week (likely on Thursday which is Thanksgiving for those of you not in the U.S.) and a day off for me.  If I haven’t mentioned it, Rick and I have been on really good terms lately.  He’s been over several times to kind of help with hanging up stuff and getting my space turned into the quasi-cool hipster pad I had envisioned when I moved into this much smaller unit.  We have plans to go out to one of our favorite Bar & Grills in midtown on Thursday.  It’s the first restaurant we went to when we moved to Atlanta back in 2001 and has been one of our consistent favorites ever since.  It’s kind of an older gay crowd with friendly wait staff, great comfort food and just an overall nice atmosphere to be in with friends.  I’m not saying or expecting anything beyond that, but it’s good to have him in my life.

That’s all I got for today.  I’ll be back later next week with a set I wasn’t expecting to make but it just kind of fell together nicely.  So, why not share it?

As 2015 begins to wind down, there is no better way to do it than with a pair of house sets that feature some of the seasons biggest and deepest house music.  In the last few years, Deep House has outgrown its underground status and crawled its way into our mainstream conscious making it more accessible while still retaining its roots steeped in house music.

I really worked these two sets out by picking up songs here and there, then a day later dropping some in favor of others until I got the perfect combination that hits my sweet spot.  As a result, it was inevitable that both sets ran over the 80-minute mark and for that, I’m not going to apologize.

I’m off today and tomorrow before the hectic shopping season is upon us, I’ll be pulling in more work hours than sleep.  You may have remembered that I had applied and tested for a government position, which I was told was in the top 1% of candidates.  Well, I never heard back from them and my status online has no remarks, at all.  The other job I had, which I was planning on leaving for that one is with Amazon.  Yes, that giant behemoth in the cloud.  Within two months I was promoted and can actually see a future with the company but I gotta say their pay is a tad left of a decent living standard.  I won’t complain, nor rail against them because they have a lot of fantastic people working there and I can clearly see a path to a brighter future for myself working with them.  In short, I’m taking lemons and trying to make a fabulous Martini LOL.
