Billboard Suspends Dance Club Songs Chart

Billboard Dance ClubI knew something was wrong but wasn’t certain because I allowed my subscription to lapse last month but it appears the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart has been suspended with an unspecified date of return. The chart relies on data provided by DJ’s that generally hold residencies at large clubs in various cities throughout the U.S. Since all the clubs are closed, it stands to reason that there is no reporting.

While Party Favorz does not solely rely on this chart to curate the Dance Club song selections, I do use it as a guide as to what’s in the pipeline. Often times, I’m miffed at what constitutes a hit song on this chart, which is why I don’t take it too seriously. Still, I do find it useful when making decisions.

Rest assured, the Dance Club section will continue on as DJ’s are still putting out remixes of your favorite songs (that usually aren’t even included on this chart) albeit not as much as they had been previously. I’ll work it out and find the right mix of songs that will fuel you into summer and beyond.

While there won’t be a release this weekend, I am currently compiling tracks for the next Dance Club, Disco House and Circuit & Anthems set list so you can expect new releases by the end of May.

As the saying goes…”The Show Must Go On” and so shall Party Favorz. Until the next time…stay safe and ENJOY!
