I’m not trying to brag about myself, but I was just over at Beatport doing a little holiday shopping in hopes of rounding out my final set of the year. I’ll be damned if they didn’t add a new category to their roster. Wanna guess what it is? Here’s a quote from the Year in Dance 2016 pt. 1 that I just posted this week:
“Since all music is ‘electronic dance music’, you may have noticed we’re in the process of dropping the EDM label and switching it over to a more generic ‘dance’ genre. Beatport can play around with this shit all day long to capitalize on (what they think is) the latest trend but at the end of the day; it’s all the same. Party Favorz offers more overly broad genres so that users have a pretty good idea what they like and can focus just on those categories that only interest them.”
I changed the category in early November when I was re-vamping the overall feel and navigation for the site. Folks, if this doesn’t prove once and for all that Party Favorz is the leader, not the follower, then I don’t what does.
Maybe my new motto should be “Setting the trends so the money-makers have something to follow.” LOL
Nah. I think we’ll just keep on doing what we’re doing and let everyone else hop on board. Peace out.
