Gay Pride 2018 | 10 Years of Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness

82 years of being gayParty Favorz is in the process of finalizing the Gay Pride 2018 sets for your upcoming celebrations. Generally, I don’t release these until June but due to personal circumstances, I wanted to ensure their timely release as Pride celebrations are already occurring in various localities throughout the United States.

For those that are about to take place, there are plenty of podcasts available under the Gay Pride section of this site, which includes decades of classic gay anthems. This year’s release will be similar but with a twist. I’ll go into that on Friday when I drop the first of four sets.

Since opening in late 2007, Party Favorz has been the defacto destination for all things Pride-related. The cover art for 2008 through 2010 was intended to be controversial and struck at the heart of the issues surrounding gay rights. In 2010, Get Equal was the in-your-face organization that sprung up and forced the issue of equality in housing, work, military, and marriage often heckling then President Obama in various public forums. Slowly but surely, the rights we fought for were victorious but not without consequence.

In the era of Trump, we are beginning to see the steady erosion of those rights with the banning of transgenders in the military, adoption, and public services. Those that would deny us these rights are passing laws under the guise of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which is nothing more than a license to discriminate. Folks, the fight is not over and I respectfully request that each and every one of you take your freedoms seriously and get out and vote in the upcoming November elections. Donate not just money (if you can) but your time to local and state candidates or better yet, run for office. We cannot sit idly by and allow our institutions of government steadily erode our rights and freedoms.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. –Martin Niemöller

I want to thank the good folks that have propped up Party Favorz over these incredible 10 years. For me, Party Favorz has always been about the music but with a message: One of hope, change, fulfillment, equality, and prosperity. I would have never been able to continue this podcast if it wasn’t for the outpouring of love I’ve received. LIVE WORK PLAY DANCE has been our motto. Live life to the fullest, Work hard, have fun and go out to Play but most importantly…don’t forget to DANCE! Since this will be the final Pride series for this podcast, I want to ensure that it’s the best ever! Feel free to scroll the slideshow below to witness the incredible journey we have taken together.

I’ll start rolling out new episodes starting on Friday. Until then…X0X0 and ENJOY!
