As ya’ll know, one of those projects was the creation of a personalized mix for Samuel, one of our followers from Chicago. Gay Chicago Pride Beats 2017, has gone on to be one of the top twenty downloaded sets of all-time around here. Frankly, I was a bit surprised because he chose a lot of older, unfamiliar songs (to me at least) mixed in with some recent songs currently riding up the charts and allowed me to throw in a few, which I thought were fitting because it was a Pride mix.
I’ve created personalized mixes before, usually for parties and a couple of fundraising events as well. I have now added to the FAQ of the site, which has been totally revamped with more current answers to people’s questions, and includes information about requesting your own set.
I’ve also started attending various WordPress events in the Atlanta area, mainly as a way to network with people in the know. I even picked up a client to build them a website for her new niche venture.
At the moment, I’ve been looking into these coding boot camps and believe I have the skills to be successful. It’s something I enjoy doing. Heck, I’ve been doing it for 10 years now with this site and am pretty much self-taught and an eager learner.
Regardless, it’s time for me to start taking these skills I have and putting them to good use. In short, I’ve got to look at my future beyond Party Favorz.
We’ve been averaging over 25,000+ downloads a month. You’d never know it by the amount of my social followers (i.e. Facebook and Twitter) but there are so many ways to access the content from this site without having to engage with it, except the first time to check it out (iTunes, Google Play, and Android RSS feed reader) that gauging traffic to the site or how many followers I have on Facebook really just doesn’t matter. People from all over the world are finding the site either by accident or through friends. Registrations are through the roof.
I’ll be reaching out to an artist manager who has followed Party Favorz since the beginning to see if there’s any life beyond what I’m doing now. Who knows. If not, I’ll keep doing it as long as time permits.
For now, I’ve got July all mapped out for you folks. So no need to worry other than I won’t likely start posting again until the following week. Rest assured, I know what my obligations are and I’m top of it.
I want to give a HUGE shout-out to those that have made donations towards my efforts to keep this thing running. Samuel R., Glenn A. Paul B., David J., Anthony S., Joe M. Ronald C. Bryan D. you guys ROCK!
I am working on new ways for folks to contribute to the site without breaking the bank, so stay tuned for that at a later date.
In the meantime, I hope everyone in the U.S. has a happy 4th of July and has fun watching the diamonds, rubies and emeralds as they illuminate the skies across this country.
Until the next time…ENJOY!
