Party Favorz is finally back in the saddle with the much-hyped and long-overdue Ultimate Bootleg Collection Volume 4 from the QUEEN herself, Madonna. This latest round of Madonna bootleg remixes has taken considerably longer than expected, and it will likely be the final installment in the series.
The first three volumes dropped in 2022. For this follow-up, I focused on remixes posted within the past four years to avoid repeating those earlier selections. However, tracking down the actual age of a bootleg isn’t always straightforward. DJs sometimes repost older mixes, especially on YouTube, making them appear newer than they really are.
A repeat may have slipped through, but I spent plenty of time weeding them out. The goal was to give this volume its own identity while keeping the songs and remixes worth hearing.
Madonna Bootleg Remixes Favor the Classics
One thing became clear during the search: remixers keep returning to a core group of Madonna songs from the 1990s through the early 2000s. From “Vogue” to “Hung Up,” this stretch of her catalog attracts a steady stream of unofficial updates.
Her 1980s hits get attention, too, particularly “Holiday,” “La Isla Bonita,” and “Like a Prayer.” Meanwhile, songs released after the original Confessions on a Dance Floor album appear far less often.
As a result, Volume 4 leans heavily into that earlier period, with a few selections outside the usual window. That wasn’t necessarily the plan going in. It reflects where I found the strongest material.
Let’s face it: there are only so many ways to remix the same song before familiar ideas start coming around again. A different beat or bigger drop doesn’t always make a version stand out. Occasionally, though, someone throws a curveball.
NIIKO X SWAE Give “Vogue” a Different Spin
NIIKO X SWAE’s recent take on “Vogue” was one of those surprises. To my ears, its quirky approach almost sounds like something Basement Jaxx might cook up. It gives the song a different personality while retaining enough of the original to keep it recognizable.
That’s why I chose it over countless versions that stayed closer to familiar territory. When you’ve heard as many Madonna bootleg remixes as I have, something unexpected makes a difference.
I also owe everyone an apology for sailing past September without releasing this set. Finding the tracks took an extremely long time. Then came the listening, comparing, and deciding which versions deserved a place.
Once I finished that process, the actual mixing came together in less than an hour. There’s still a little rawness to this mix because I trusted my instincts instead of overthinking every transition. Overall, I’m pleased with the result.
Still, the growing repetition makes this feel like a natural stopping point for the Bootleg Collection. There may always be another standout remix, but putting together an entire fresh volume is getting harder.
A New Home and the Move to South Texas
In other news, Rick and I finally signed a lease for a brand-new townhome in South Texas which offers a lot more square footage along with a fenced in backyard for Jack our Corgi. It does this for $800 less then what we pay now because this area of the country is one of the most affordable in the country. We plan to make the trek in early November, which means there’s plenty of work between now and then.
I still need to book the movers and coordinate our arrival. We’re allowing about three days for the trip, with the goal of picking up the keys and having our belongings delivered around the same time. We also need to figure out how to transport all our fish. That alone should be an adventure.
I’m hoping to stop in Frisco, just outside Dallas, to visit family. I haven’t seen my mom and sister since 2005, and my mom isn’t getting any younger. With roughly ten hours between North Texas and our destination, I’m conscious that this could be my last chance to see her.
Despite everything on my plate, I plan to release new Club Fusion and Circuit & Anthems mixes before we leave. Realistically, that’s probably all I can manage. Once we settle in, I’ll share the release plans for the rest of the year.
Find Party Favorz on YouTube
The Party Favorz YouTube channel now has all the categories up, giving you another way to enjoy the mixes.
The channel doesn’t contain everything from the website. Instead, the two complement each other. Music restrictions also affect availability: a mix may play in some countries but remain blocked in the United States, while a single song can sometimes trigger a worldwide block.
When that happens, you can still find the original mix on the Party Favorz website for streaming and download, along with podcast platforms such as Apple Podcasts.
Sometimes I remove the track causing the block and upload a revised version. However, that takes time, so other mixes remain available through the website without a YouTube edition. Even with those limitations, I think the channel offers a solid balance across the Party Favorz categories. I hope y’all enjoy it.
After an all-night marathon getting everything ready, I’m about ready to crash. Now, if fall would finally show up here so we could get into hoodie season.
Until the next time…ENJOY!
