Gay Atlanta Pride Beats 2018 | Circuit, Tribal, House Music From the Gayest City in the South!

Gay Atlanta Pride

Gay Atlanta PrideAtlanta doesn’t celebrate Pride until early October when the weather is reasonably accommodating. Since there have been a plethora of last-minute Pride-themed tracks that have been released, I decided to green-light a set featuring brand-spanking new tracks. With so much coming out lately, I thought we could get a jump on the annual Summer Edition early on so as not to get too far behind.

This set dovetails nicely with Chicago Pride Beats 2017, that was commissioned by one of our followers last year. The only difference being that these tracks are all new or newly updated classics from the past.

You’ll also notice some housed-up songs that follow in the footsteps of T-Dance. In fact, there are so many of these songs coming out these days I may very well knock one out sometime in July. I’m hedging my bets that many of the gay folk here will be all over it.

This set is smoking HOT and I expect you’ll be hearing many of these songs throughout the summer at festivals and your local club.

I’m guessing my next move will be the annual Pool Party (formerly Beach House) around July 4th or maybe a new Dance-Club set. I can’t say for certain until I dive in. I have not been in the best frame of mind lately. As I try to keep my shit straight, I will officially take the rest of the month off. Don’t worry, it’s only a couple of weeks before we gear things back up again. I haven’t let ya’ll down yet.

One other note: The EU is about to vote on Article 13 which could very well jeopardize the fate of Party Favorz in those countries which constitute for half of our followers. I cannot recommend enough that you follow this site on one of the alternate platforms like Apple Music, Google Play, TuneIn, Stitcher, Podbean (sorry Spotify is still down) or use the RSS feed provided at the end of each episode to use in your favorite podcast application or reader. In fact, Party Favorz is also listed in the new Google Podcast app that is available in Google Play store that lists the biggest podcasts out there.

In the meantime, I hope everyone has a very happy and safe Pride. I’ll be back before you can snap two fingers. Until then…ENJOY!

Gay Anthems For a New Generation 2018 | Modern-Day Pride Classics

Gay Anthems for a New Generation

Gay Anthems for a New GenerationGay Anthems For a New Generation 2018 has finally landed and boy oh boy is this one a whopper! For the uninitiated, this series began in 2016 and features re-worked classics for today’s dancefloors as well as modern-day queer anthems. The 2017 edition of GAFANG has consistently remained in the Top 20 downloads since its release, surpassing even my wildest expectations.

It’s now 2018 and somehow, someway, I’ve managed to take it to the next level. A HUGE thanks goes out to Division 4 (a.k.a. Leo Frappier) for making a lot of this possible. His modernized reworks of classics for gay fanboys are just what the doctored ordered. While I couldn’t use everything I wanted, his contribution to this set really sets the tone. You should check out his SoundCloud page and follow him as he sometimes makes these tracks available free to download. His staggering amount of releases are definitely worth your time.

And so it goes, another year of Party Favorz celebrating the month of June, also known as Pride Month. In all likelihood, this will be my last. Save a couple of new Diva Hall of Fame entries later this month, I plan on taking some time off. I’m heading out to Dallas today for a long overdue visit with my family and to celebrate my father’s life. I’m under consideration for two really good jobs that are a complete opposite of anything I’ve ever done before (or so I’ve been told) and expect to hear something back in the next couple of weeks (whether bad or good); fingers crossed.

In the interim, you folks have more than enough to carry you through the month. Frankly, I’m exhausted so some time off from the site will be welcome. I want to wish everyone a very happy Pride! I’ll be back soon enough. Until then…ENJOY!

Let It Shine | Pride 2018 vol. 3 | Celebrating 10 Years of Free, Gay & Happy!

Pride 2018 vol. 3

Pride 2018 vol. 3We have reached the end of the traditional Pride series with Let It Shine. Once again, this set consists of pride anthems/classics that have been updated for today’s dance floors. Sprinkled in are some brand-spanking new tracks like the wonderfully uplifting Together & Always by Steven Redant + Joe Gauthreaux.

If you have noticed any trends amongst these three sets, it’s that I used the White Party releases and Queer As Folk soundtracks as inspiration to create them. I went back and scrolled through the various tracklists for these awesome compilations and then went and pulled or sought out updated versions of those songs. Since I’ve already created a plethora of sets with the original classic gay anthems, I found this to be a good way to draw from the best of both worlds. Giving folks familiar songs with refreshed versions of the originals.

I still have the Gay Anthems For a New Generation coming out on Friday. Since the original release two years ago these sets have garnered some of the most sought-after and downloaded sets I’ve ever put together. Instead of the standard circuit of many of my releases, these focus on more electro and modern-day house remixes with a gay twist. Their popularity cannot be understated and this year’s entry will likely be the biggest. At least I’m banking on it.

I need to give a HUGE shoutout to Andy M., Ludovic D., Caye South M., Glenn A., Anthony S., and Paul B. for their more than generous contributions to my ongoing efforts! Donations are always welcome and definitely appreciated.

One last thought: With the recent passing of legislation by the EU pertaining to user privacy rights, Party Favorz has updated our own privacy policy. Please take the time to read it as I think you will find it enlightening.

That’s all I got for the moment. Until Frigay…ENJOY!

Choose Hope | Pride 2018 vol. 1 | Celebrating 10 Years of Free, Gay & Happy!

Pride 2018 vol. 1

Pride 2018 vol. 1I’ve got three sets (possibly four) for Pride 2018 coming your way this week starting with “Choose Hope!” The first three podcasts contain modernized versions of classic anthems that includes circuit, disco, uplifting house, and future anthems. The possible fourth podcast will be Gay Anthems For a New Generation, a new feature set that I introduced two years ago that leans on more modern-day funky house and EDM. Other than that, I don’t really have that much to offer because these sets speak for themselves.

It appears to be a crappy Memorial Day weekend with heavy storms rolling in for this week. Much of it has already been hitting us in bands for the past few days. I hope the weather is more cooperative where you’re at. Who wants a three or four day weekend holiday when the weather sucks? I guess, take the party indoors.

I’ll be back on Monday with the next episode. Until then…ENJOY!

Gay Pride 2018 | 10 Years of Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness

82 years of being gayParty Favorz is in the process of finalizing the Gay Pride 2018 sets for your upcoming celebrations. Generally, I don’t release these until June but due to personal circumstances, I wanted to ensure their timely release as Pride celebrations are already occurring in various localities throughout the United States.

For those that are about to take place, there are plenty of podcasts available under the Gay Pride section of this site, which includes decades of classic gay anthems. This year’s release will be similar but with a twist. I’ll go into that on Friday when I drop the first of four sets.

Since opening in late 2007, Party Favorz has been the defacto destination for all things Pride-related. The cover art for 2008 through 2010 was intended to be controversial and struck at the heart of the issues surrounding gay rights. In 2010, Get Equal was the in-your-face organization that sprung up and forced the issue of equality in housing, work, military, and marriage often heckling then President Obama in various public forums. Slowly but surely, the rights we fought for were victorious but not without consequence.

In the era of Trump, we are beginning to see the steady erosion of those rights with the banning of transgenders in the military, adoption, and public services. Those that would deny us these rights are passing laws under the guise of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which is nothing more than a license to discriminate. Folks, the fight is not over and I respectfully request that each and every one of you take your freedoms seriously and get out and vote in the upcoming November elections. Donate not just money (if you can) but your time to local and state candidates or better yet, run for office. We cannot sit idly by and allow our institutions of government steadily erode our rights and freedoms.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. –Martin Niemöller

I want to thank the good folks that have propped up Party Favorz over these incredible 10 years. For me, Party Favorz has always been about the music but with a message: One of hope, change, fulfillment, equality, and prosperity. I would have never been able to continue this podcast if it wasn’t for the outpouring of love I’ve received. LIVE WORK PLAY DANCE has been our motto. Live life to the fullest, Work hard, have fun and go out to Play but most importantly…don’t forget to DANCE! Since this will be the final Pride series for this podcast, I want to ensure that it’s the best ever! Feel free to scroll the slideshow below to witness the incredible journey we have taken together.

I’ll start rolling out new episodes starting on Friday. Until then…X0X0 and ENJOY!

Gay Chicago Pride Beats 2017

Gay Chicago Pride Beats 2017 1

Gay Chicago Pride Beats 2017 1SURPRISE! Party Favorz was commissioned by one of our loyalist to create a Pride mix specifically for them. Over the years, I’ve done these for birthday parties, where folks would give them out as part of goody bags, as well as for various charitable events. I’m not sure what Samuel plans on doing with this massive set, but I’m laying odds this is going to be on some float in a parade but that’s just my guess.

Regardless, the tracks he chose were awesome. In fact, I busted my ass getting this as perfect as possible. It’s not always easy when folks pick out their own songs as I typically worry about flow and energy. He gave a me bit of leeway to add a few things of my choosing and I made some creative decisions on certain versions of songs that worked best but for the most part; this is exactly what he wanted and it’s nothing short of pure perfection. Albeit, one song by Ariana Grande had to be dropped because there was no way (no matter what version I chose) it was going to work (sorry about that).

Samuel did ask that I post it to the site and fortunately, I had purchased extra space for this month; so here it is…Gay Chicago Pride Beats 2017!

For all the circuit go-go boys celebrating Pride; this one’s for you. ENJOY!

Anyone interested in a personalized mix should reach out to support at I’ll provide information in the FAQ section of this site in the next couple of days.

Gay Anthems for a New Generation 2017I’ve been teasing out Gay Anthems For a New Generation  what seems like forever, but it’s finally here!

From track list, editing to tweaking and remastering, I’ve been working on this bad boy off and on in-between all the other shit going on in my life. I can honestly say, that I am very proud of the final product.

The whole purpose of this set is to showcase classic gay anthems in a way that better reflects what’s going on in house music at the moment. Some songs were only released several years back, while others may be 20 years old. However, the renditions offered here reflect just how enduring and well-written these songs were and that they still hold up; even today.

Between these songs, I offered current and not so current tracks to ensure relevance of the moment.

Last year’s Gay Anthems For a New Generation 2016, was the first such set of modernized classics I was trying out. Who knew it would go on to be one of the biggest sets I’ve ever released (and there have been many).

Party Favorz started out as a play on words in 1999. I’m originally from Texas that has blue laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol past midnight. While the bars would stay open until 2am, folks would be gearing up for after-hour parties. It was those parties I’d show up at and people would ask if I had brought any party favors. I was known for selling my mixes on CD, so naturally that’s what they were referencing and the name stuck.

In my lifetime, I’ve witnessed major changes in the fight for LGBT rights and the cover art I’ve created for a variety of Gay Pride events over the years reflect those struggles. My greatest work was created for Pride 2008. Sadly, I’ve lost the hi-resolution artwork and only have the lower quality versions.

Folks, we are at a turning point in our history. While we’ve won major victories for marriage equality, the ability to openly serve in the military, fast-tracking of life saving drugs for people with AIDS and so on…we are about to lose them again. I won’t go into all the unseemly behavior of the current administration because all you have to do is read any credible news outlet or watch TV about the daily ramblings of our mentally challenged president and the blatant corruption that surrounds his administration to get a clue as to how bad things are and will be if this continues.

One thing is for certain, if the great Orange Miser gets impeached, that leaves us with someone even worse. Don’t be fooled by his good looks and quiet, seemingly thoughtful demeanor; Mike Pence is someone you need to be very afraid of. Read about what he did while governor of Indiana; his fundamental views about things we now take for granted.

I can guarantee you that the struggle will continue and it will be up to each and every one of us gay/straight/black/white/latino/asian/other to beat back what I fear is coming. Religion is not under assault as they would claim. However, using it as a basis for governance and laws subjects people to an ideology straight out of the middle-ages.

We must stay strong and be vigilant. Now is not the time for complacency.

I’ve got a surprise wish list set commissioned by one of our followers going up either tomorrow or Sunday.

Until then, I want to wish everyone a very happy and safe Pride. ENJOY!

Free, Gay & Happy | Gay Pride Anthems 2017 vol. 5

Pride 2017 vol 5

Pride 2017 vol 5There is a gold pot at the end of this long rainbow journey Party Favorz has taken and we’ve almost reached it.

I finally got my grubby hands on the official remixes of Free, Gay & Happy by the Coming Out Crew featuring the fabulous Sabrina Johnston. I had always used a remake by Verde  but nothing is better than the real deal. The release has the original mixes and some newer updated versions but I went with my favorite by T-empo.

My goal bringing back these classics, even after having revisited them years ago was to present them in a newer light, remastered and in some cases with newer modern versions of the originals. I was also able to drop several goodies that had never made it on any of my previous gay anthem sets. While these five sets are far from exhaustive, they are definitely a good representation of what a true Gay Anthem represents.

When you go back and dig through everything I’ve posted (and there is a lot) and then combine it with Year In Dance (which goes as far back as 1996) or several of the sets from the House Classics, you’ll find decades and decades of classic house, circuit and trance that lifted us up, made us happy, angry and sad but mostly unified us as a community. I’ll likely have more to say on that matter in my final thoughts on all the things the LGBTQ community has achieved, where we’re heading and the certain struggles that lie ahead.

For now, I want everyone to let down your guard, show us your True Colors and dance like today is your last day on earth! ENJOY!

A Little RESPECT | Gay Pride Anthems 2017 vol.4

Pride 2017 vol. 4

Pride 2017 vol. 4Well, batten down the hatches, lower the boom and raise the mizenmast because Party Favorz is moving full speed ahead!

I’m back with volume 4 of Gay Pride Anthems for 2017 titled A Little Respect.

As usual, this set is packed with massive Gay Anthems in their original glory days format plus several alternate mixes and a couple that have never been included in previous efforts.

I will say that Faith Evans “Mesmerized” is the ONLY reason I’m still here today doing what I do. Between 2004 and 2005, I was putting in 60-70 hour work weeks for AT&T and was totally not feeling the dance music landscape. At the time, dance music had taken a really dark turn and even shiny happy songs were being turned into these doom and gloom 10-minute epics of despair that just weren’t my style.

It wasn’t until the end of 2005 that a friend and I went out to the bars when Rick had gone back to Texas for his niece’s Quinceañera. When I heard the remix of Mesmerized and subsequently Loving You More, I was so blown away I had to do the one thing you just don’t do. That is, pester the DJ about the title, artist, and remixer of the songs. Freemasons were making a name for themselves right about the time Moto Blanco was doing the same. Suddenly, I got that itch because house music was evolving into something that made me happy and wants to dance.

I’ve gone back and revisited those lost years (2004 and 2005) with the Year In Dance and have more appreciation for the work of Gabriel & Dresden, Scumfrog, Chus & Ceballo, etc. than I did at the time. No doubt, there are some classic gems these guys produced at the time and it’s worth revisiting those years. Looking back it, it wasn’t all doom and gloom; it just felt that way.

With all that said, I’m proud to present to you the next installment of the 2017 Gay Pride Anthems. I’ve got one to go in this classic series set for tomorrow and then we cap it all off with the AMAZING set of anthems geared towards millennial’s.

Until then…ENJOY!

Pride 2017 vol 3

Pride 2017 vol 3Keeping the heat up, Party Favorz is sending up the 3rd volume of gay pride anthems, Over the Rainbow. Once again, it’s packed with crowd-pleasing favorites by Whitney Houston, Rozalla, Chaka Khan & Martha Wash (to name a few).

While all the sets are finished, I still need to go back and brush up on volume’s 4 and 5 to ensure sound quality and check for errors and energy levels. After that, I’ll post the remaining three sets on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday respectively.

Then, I plan on taking the rest of the month off. I need a break. More on that later.

Born This Way | Gay Pride Anthems 2017 vol. 2

Pride 2017 vol 2

Pride 2017 vol 2Well, I’m running a bit behind this morning. I went out for my usual morning Starbucks. Once I got back, the sun was shining so bright, I couldn’t see the lines on my car screen to back into the garage so I relied on the painted lines to guide me in. Little did I realize is that those lines are not lined up properly and I ended up smashing my passenger-side mirror with a built-in camera. It snaps back into place but I can’t get the casing on. I’ll have to take it in on Monday and no telling what that will cost to get it fixed but I digress because we’re continuing our Pride celebration and I’m not gonna let my shit spoil anyone’s fun.

Born This Way contains a slew of Gay Pride favorites with a couple of newer versions to keep the set fresh. However, look closely at track number ’12’. This ain’t the full suite that Barry Harris claimed he’d get around to in an interview long ago but it’s pretty damn close. Party Favorz has made no secret about my unabashed love for all things DJ Meme, so much so that I featured him in one of my earliest DJ/Artist Tribute sets, which he thanked me for. He updates Donna Summer’s classic MacArthur Park for today’s disco-crazed resurgence while managing to keep the original intact (save Heaven Knows, which he edited out). This is truly a stunning update that’s bound to tickle the toes of any Donna Summer fan.

While the remaining sets are finished, I tend to go through them one last time before release to ensure quality in all aspects. After all; if this is to be the last gay word for Party Favorz Pride, then I want to leave a lasting impression.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. I’ve got three more of these coming out next week and then I’ll cap it all off with the Gay Anthems for a New Generation 2017, which I just wrapped up yesterday and boy oh boy is it tasty. You know how I roll around here. I always save the best and most anticipated for last.

Until next time…ENJOY!

Celebrate! | Gay Pride Anthems 2017 vol. 1

Pride 2017 vol 1

Pride 2017 vol 1Welcome to the 2017 Gay Pride celebration! I tend to think of Pride much like Christmas in that it only comes once a year (though at varying times based on calendar events in your area). Much like that other pagan holiday, there’s fantastic music we like to listen to each year, over and over. Of course, there are new entries by artists of the moment, who try to take re-work classics or just stay true to the original. As you can see, the parallels are strikingly similar.

My original plan was to take songs from all of my previous Gay Pride Anthem sets and mix them in with a bunch of forgotten gems and some newer material. After compiling everything, it soon became an overly daunting task.

What I did instead, was take some of most well-known (Un-break My Heart, Believe, etc.) and either infused them with updated versions or kept the original and then intertwined them with classics that have never appeared on any of my past sets along with a few newer entries like Martha Wash’s recent #1 Free People.

The end result is a soul-satisfying, upbeat, hands-in-the-air, fun romp through Pride anthems of then and now. It was painful to leave a lot of stuff off but remember everything is still here in one form or another under the Gay Pride category of Party Favorz. If you dig in just a little, there are a plethora of tunes and yours is likely in there somewhere.

Since I know several Pride events have already taken place with many more to come over the next several weeks (Atlanta’s isn’t until October); I want to make sure I get everything out in a timely manner. So, I’ll be dropping a new set just about every other day until we reach the brand-spanking new Gay Anthems for a New Generation set, which is coming along quite nicely. The original set has gone on to be one of the BIGGEST releases Party Favorz has ever put out so I have big hopes for the companion piece dropping in just over a week.

Folks, it’s time to celebrate…ENJOY!

Gay Anthems for a New Generation | Pride Classics 2016

Pride Classics 2016 pt. 5

Pride Classics 2016 pt. 5The opening song has been updated to the fantastic Need Your Lovin’ by Mathieu Koss, which heavily samples the early 80’s one hit wonder Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime by the Korgis.

As we claw our way towards the end of the week, I thought I’d go ahead and post the final Pride Classics for 2016. Gay Anthems for a New Generation is quite a bit different from the last four circuit classics sets I just posted in that it focus’ on the future while reaching into the past. It’s intended to be a bit reflective with a lot of bouncy fun you’d expect from a Pride celebration.

This set draws from future house hits of the past few years (What I Did For Love, Go All Night, I Got U, Real Love, Hustlin’) to current hits like the fabulously funky Air Miles by Me & My Toothbrush and the disco hit taken from the HBO series VinylKill the Lights.

Of course the big winners here are modern-day bootleg re-edits of Gloria Gaynor’s definitive anthem I Will Survive, Diana Ross’ proclamative anthem I’m Coming Out to Madonna’s everyday celebratory Holiday. Sandwich these with plain ole fun modern twists of Shannon’s Let the Music Play, Vicetone’s Hawt Stuff (think Donna Summer), 2 B Real (think Cheryl Lynn), Daft Punk’s Around the World and George Michael’s Fast Love and you got yourself one big-ass Pride throw-down.

I’ve got more that didn’t make this year’s cut so I thought I’d save them for 2017, which is Party Favorz’ 10 year anniversary and likely our last but that’s for a later discussion.

For now, we don’t let the shit-news of the week keep us down. Instead, we get LOUDER and PROUDER making our voices heard! IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE!

Happy Pride Everybody!

Pride Classics 2016 v5

Pride Classics 2016 v5I realize that you folks who live outside of the United States probably think it’s the wild west over here and to a certain extent, I wouldn’t blame your line of reasoning.

After all, we have a republican congress that denies science, stifles any and all conversation about restricting what types of guns that can be purchased legally all under a misunderstood interpretation of the 2nd Amendment; and openly promote hate, racism, and homophobia under the guise of their pretend god. We have a leading presidential candidate who has seized on all of the above to promote his candidacy for President while the members of his own party run as far away as they can only after it becomes clear many of them will lose their seat because of their affiliation with this ass-clown. (hint: you create it, you own it).

I stand by my original statement in the previous post but will expand it to include ALL religions, not just Islam. Was the slaughter of 49 and injury of 53 innocent people the result of self-loathing homophobia? terrorism? mental illness? I’d say all of the above, but the underlying foundation that propels individuals to harm others is almost ALWAYS religion. In this case, Islam. Whether peaceful as many say or not (I have my serious doubts) the purpose of religion is to control the masses and impose a very narrow and strict belief set of questionable principles on people’s lives; principles that the majority of the enforcers don’t live by themselves.

To be clear, I’m a pretty open person and accept most people; even Republicans and/or those that seek spiritual solace through religion. What I won’t tolerate are folks imposing those views or passing judgment on me. Those that are vocally hostile and judgmental towards others because of some perceived lack of morality are 10 out of 10 times shining a light on their own private bad behavior. From meth-smoking religious leaders hooking up with male prostitutes to “supposed” experts testifying in court against gay parents adopting children and later caught soliciting men on gay escort apps; recent history alone is replete with examples of the outlandish hypocrisy of the morally righteous.

I’m off my soapbox. We have one more set of mixes to go and the final one is nothing short of AWESOME.

Until the next time …ENJOY!

Pride Classics 2016 v2

Pride Classics 2016 v2Back on board with part 2 of Circuit Anthems & Pride Classics with a couple of bootlegs from past Pride years. Barry’s recent epic re-work of the Jim Steinman classic Total Eclipse of the Heart sung by Bonnie Tyler is so f@cking HUGE, I couldn’t help myself. The same could be said about the Chris Cox remix of Christina’s Hurt. There is more drama kicking this set off, General Hospital should step aside please.

Hex Hector closes this set out with the fabulous Harem by Sarah Brightman (one of my ALL-TIME favorites). The woman puts on an amazing show and is absolutely mesmerizing in concert. The lush middle eastern treatment Hex spins on the original while making it club-friendly is one of his most notable if not infamous feats in production.

I’ve got two more of these plus something a bit newer and fresher for the final Pride set going up next week. So if you’re feeling these, be sure to be on the lookout.

I’m also putting the finishing touches on the next Mixtape called Summer Chill that I’m so giddy about, it may make an early appearance on this site as opposed to the July 4th holiday release I had planned. Stay tuned for more information on that later.

That’s all I got for this cool early summer morning. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and as always …ENJOY!

Circuit Anthems & Gay Pride Classics pt. 1

Pride Classics 2016 v3

Pride Classics 2016 v3When I made my first Gay Anthems set in 2009, I posted a full write-up on what constitutes a “gay anthem” or “pride classic,” that’s worth a read. I won’t bother writing it up again but it’s there if you want to have a good laugh.

For the next four sets, I’ve flipped the narrative keeping my focus on “circuit anthems,” which for the most part touch on all the bases that lift the gay anthem narrative.

The songs are taken from the mid-millennium to present day with a few earlier choice cuts. I tried not to duplicate anything from my previous Pride Classics and Epic Circuit Anthems series but it is possible there may be some overlap.

A lot of the music represented here goes back to the days of Perfect Beat. I don’t how many of you remember them, but they were to defacto go to for club music CD maxis. They also tried to set up one of the first online download services. The business model just wasn’t there and they lacked the resources necessary to make it work before getting their skirt handed to them by Beatport, Juno, Traxsource and certainly iTunes. Having purchased a ton of music from their online store, I remember them fondly because there are a lot of songs over the next four sets that are taken from those discs.

I’ll be dropping part 2 tomorrow and will roll out three more next week before taking a break for the rest of the month. Then in July, we got the Summer Edition, Beach House and who knows what else might bounce out of my head.

It’s heating up outside and the weekend is almost here. Until tomorrow …ENJOY!

Unspeakable Joy | Gay Pride Anthems & Classics

Pride Classics Unspeakable Joy

Pride Classics Unspeakable JoyI can’t of no better way to wind this site down than with a new addition to the Pride Classics series.  It’s been a long while since I originally posted the 5-set podcast, which I performed some minor updating to last year but it still needed more.  Bigger, better, faster …HARDER!

Things start off with Linda Eder’s version of “I Am What I Am” from La Cage Aux Folles.  This song was/is a rallying cry for the gay community originally made famous by Gloria Gaynor in 1983.  Though I didn’t use Gloria’s version, a 2013 re-work of her other gay anthem “I Will Survive” does appear here and fits nicely with the late 90s early millennium vibe of this set.

While the majority of these songs have appeared at one time or another in past sets, the one song I could never get worked in is the closing number.  The original Bruce Roberts, Elton John and Kristine W version of “When the Money’s Gone” is one of my ALL-TIME favorites.  The only version of this song that exists is in a continuous mix; one for the Junior Vasquez “White Party Album” and the other from some obnoxious “Gay Anthems” mix album.  I was finally able to mix it in with the cold ending of “I’m Outta Love” and just added a blast sound effect for the cold-ending of the song that was about to mix into another song from which it was taken.  Not to go on and on about this but I’m tickled I finally got it to work.

Some of you have sent me a note indicating you tried to make a donation from the site but for some reason it wouldn’t allow you.  Usually, you have to turn off your pop-up blocker in your browser for it to work.  If you prefer, you can send your donation via PayPal to  I need to raise $60 (I already got $10) by the 17th to keep the site up.  Otherwise, I’ll just keep the name and drop everything else.  I’m freaking dirt poor at the moment and this is the only way to keep things moving.  If it doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen.  It’s been a good ride and frankly I’m pleased with what I have achieved, so no regrets.

I want to wish everyone a very happy Pride, this IS our year!

Peace Out and as always …ENJOY! -K

Pride 2015 v2 | Even More Big-Ass Circuit Beats

Pride 2015 v2 1

Pride 2015 v2 1Somewhere this week I lost a day.  I’d swear yesterday was Thursday and stayed up all night binging on the new Netflix series “Sense8.”  As a result, I rolled out of bed later than my usual 6am only to realize that today was already Saturday and that I missed my Pride post for yesterday.  Better late than never and I believe you will pleased because this sucker is gonna blow the roof off!

The United States is on the cusp of a MAJOR change in policy towards gay marriages.  The SCOTUS, is set to hand down a decision challenging a ban on same-sex marriage that will have a rippling effect throughout all 50 states.  Just because I recently had a failed 14-year relationship that didn’t get to see this important recognition DOES NOT mean I have soured on EQUALITY FOR ALL.  To the contrary, gay rights have come a long way in this country but it’s been a difficult journey to say the least and things have been moving really fast over the past five years.

In short, this decision is expected to split the court with a swing vote by Justice Kennedy tipping the scale in our favor.  Even if marriage is not an important issue for you personally, this decision will be historic and will pull out another peg from the four-legged stool of injustice that has been plaguing the LGBT community for a lifetime.  Party Favorz stands in full support for the rights of these good folks and their families to finally have the recognition they rightfully deserve.

As I had mentioned in my prior post, my domain ( is set to renew on June 18th as is the hosting for the site.  I had their top-tier package last year but after looking at the cheapest possible options, I figured I can get away with their base plan.  While this site drums up quite a bit of traffic, most of you good folks who follow me regularly get your updates through the various social-media options I have available and in the majority of cases off of your phones.  You can thank Big Brother, uh I mean Google Analytics for providing this invaluable information.

Nevertheless, I still need to maintain my presence on the internet with the site from which all these alternative sources of accessing my content are available.  So, I went ahead and re-opened the Party Favorz Vault and am once again offering unlimited access to ALL of my past podcasts for a flat-rate of $40 annually.  Since this is the month of Pride, I am also offering access to just the Pride folder and the majority of its contents (including the classic Pride sets) for a flat rate of $10 through July 4th.  In fact, I plan on providing low-quality streaming on them in the next couple of hours for those that are interested.

For those of you who already subscribe, I have re-added the PayPal button on the front page so that you might consider a one-time donation to help offset my costs.  I need to come up with $60, which for the most part is not a lot, but after my recent split with Rick (see here), money IS too tight to mention.  In the interest of keeping Party Favorz afloat, please consider making a donation of $5, $10 or anything you can afford.  In the immortal words of Depeche Mode “everything counts (even) in small amounts.”

I’ll be back next week with the earlier than usual Beach House Edition.  Until then …HAPPY PRIDE and as always ENJOY!

Pride Edition 2015 | BIG Circuit Beats v1

Pride 2015

Pride 2015Welcome to the PRIDE edition 2015.  Due to time constraints and other personal priorities, Gay Days was dropped as is the collection of the best EDM hits for the year so far in favor of this two-set circuit beats.

With so much going on lately, it will be difficult to maintain my previous output for this site.  Regardless, I’m on track for the next couple of weeks with part 2 of this set followed by the annual Beach House set which is currently in the production phase (and is looking mighty tasty).

Right now, dig into this set of BIG ASS diva vocals and tribal beats that should fuel you through your workouts and pump you up for the weekend.  I’ll be back next week for the second round.

Until then …ENJOY!

Strict Machine | Epic Gay Circuit Anthems v4

Strict Machine Circuit Anthems v4

Strict Machine Circuit Anthems v4So I get up early this morning as normal and head on over to pay a visit to Ian, the Starbucks hottie that works the drive-thru.  Considering we are deep into summer, the morning was unusually crisp and cool as if it were early fall.  Mind you I’m not complaining, but I did think it was a bit odd.  I digress.

Capping off the Epic Circuit Anthems series, the aptly titled Strict Machine serves up more big room drama that heated up dance floors from years past.  If there were one song that was eponymous to epic, that would definitely be Paula Cole’s “I Believe in Love.”  Clocking in at 14 minutes, this one song pretty much had it all; soaring diva vocals, massive heart-pounding beats that slowly build into the ultimate orgasm, and DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA.  To this day, I’ve never been able to find the perfect copy of this song and am convinced the over-compression used by Jonathan Peters was intentional.  I went back and tried to temper the song the best I could, but you will notice a little rumbling when it hits a couple of peaks within the song.  Regardless, the overall quality is very good.

The other massive title included here is Kim English’s “Unspeakable Joy.”  We owe a great deal of gratitude for Razor ‘n’ Guido’s big room production of this uplifting anthem.  This song had more drops than a twenty-dollar trick on a good night.  In retrospect, it may have been slightly over the top, so I went back and tightened up the mix.  By cutting out some of the unnecessary drops, it makes those that remain more eagerly anticipated as opposed to just something you expect every minute or so over the course of the song.

In a few months, I’ll go back and gauge the response to these sets and pour through the numbers.  If they’re good, I’ll be sending more of these up at a later date.  If not, then enjoy the last of them.  I’m off all day so I’ll be digging right back into the summer EDM set(s) I’m hoping to put next week.

Happy 4th of July to all the US folks and everybody else has a fabulous weekend.  Until the next time …ENJOY!

Filthy Gorgeous | Epic Gay Circuit Anthems v3

Filthy Gorgeous Circuit Anthems v3

Filthy Gorgeous Circuit Anthems v3So the last time we were talking, I think someone mentioned something about hot sex on the dance floor, is that correct?  Ah yes, I remember now.  Coming back at ya with more drama, big beats, and even larger voices, Filthy Gorgeous picks up where the first two left off.  Peter Rauhofer is definitely representing in this set from the stunningly elegant A Thousand Beautiful Things by Annie Lennox and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera to the dirty funk re-work of the Vanity 6 classic Nasty Girl by Inaya Day.  DAMN! This guy is missed.

When it comes to big room drama, Hex Hector will always be at the top of the list of our go-to DJs.  Obviously, I closed the set out with his massive production of Waiting For Tonight by Jennifer Lopez.  I figured I had been extolling the virtues of that one song so much, I damn well better get it worked in.

The third and fourth volumes of the Epic Circuit Anthems series were actually the first two I put together.  Originally I started out slicing these songs up by reigning in their grandeur, while it would have been blasphemy to even touch others.  By the time I got to the final two sets, represented here as volume 1 & 2, I decided to let the songs ride and did little to no editing.  I know folks will fall down on either side of that decision.  The purest prefers to let the children run free and wild, while the prudent prefer a little judicial restraint. So you get a little of both.  In the end, I think my creative decision worked out well.

I realize we got 4th of July coming up tomorrow, but that ain’t gonna stop me from posting the final set, which I have aptly titled Strict Machine.  I’m off tomorrow so I’ll have some time to start editing down the tracklist for the next summer EDM set, which may or may not be called Hot Mess.  So far, it’s anything but that.  Don’t worry about me though, I’ll have plenty of time to sneak in some rays, bar-b-q, and beer before the fireworks.  Until tomorrow, ENJOY!

Got Pride? 2014

Got Pride 2014

Got Pride 2014With all the work, headaches and overall general crap trying to get Party Favorz moved over to WordPress and Libsyn, my new hosting provider for the actual podcast, I was afraid that this year’s Pride was gonna get lost in the shuffle.

While working on Gay Days, I began making the rainbow connection and ideas just started seeping out my ears.  Then, I saw a promotional release by Matt Consola’s Swishcraft, you know the GAYEST music label in the world based out of San Francisco, that featured a remix of the late 80’s classic I Beg Your Pardon by Kon Kan.

That lead me to their Facebook page, where I was reminded that Barry Harris, you know the GAYEST half of Thunderpuss was also half of the one-hit wonder group in the late 80’s.  I Beg Your Pardon is scheduled for a full release in mid-July with all new remixes from a variety of DJs.  This appears to be an exciting project and I can’t wait to get my paws on the new updates of this classic song.

Ultimately, Got Pride? 2014 is a culmination of remixes that plays like 7 degrees of Swishcraft.  Virtually every song or DJ in it has some connection back to the GAYEST label in the world, including the GAYEST of them all Wayne G LOL.

Sprinkled with some newer updated gay anthems and a few notable new releases, Got Pride? 2014 smashes the objective and rains down like a Skittles commercial.  Taste the RAINBOW indeed!

We may only be halfway through Pride month but Party Favorz has even more goodness up our sleeves and it’s highly recommended you stay close to the updates coming your way between now and the end of the month.  DON’T BE A LOSER AND MISS OUT! Instead, be the coolest kid on the block armed with the latest and greatest dance music podcasts to show off to all your friends at pool parties and whatever gatherings you may be attending this summer.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and until the next one …ENJOY!

New York City Boy | Epic Gay Circuit Anthems v2

New York City Boy Circuit Anthems v2

New York City Boy Circuit Anthems v2 2501New York City Boy continues the theme of hot sex on the dance floor established in the previous version of this four-piece series.

Having already completed all four of these, one of the issues that I encountered was the grandiosity of many of the songs.  Often times, the DJs piled on for seemingly no reason at all.  Back in the day, when we working up a sweat on the dance floor, size was all the rage.  In hindsight, I can honestly say several of these songs require some taming.

Whether it is was Thunderpuss’ remix of New York City Boy or DJ Skribble and Anthony Acid’s I’m Not in Love, they seriously needed some chastening from their original 14-minute grind.  With a keen eye, I took a scalpel and carefully re-edited these monsters, keeping the original feel intact while eliminating redundant and unnecessary waste.  You’ll see even more of this in the fourth volume.  Folks, there is no need to worry, your beloved memories won’t be lost as a result of these minor edits.

Next week, I’ve got the official Party Favorz Pride 2014 on tap followed by either the final two sets in this series or the 2014 catch-up featuring the hottest EDM so far this year.  Whether I can finish the latter on time will make that determination.  Either way, they’ll both be served up by the end of this month.  I’ve also got a brand new funkydiscohouseshit set scheduled for early July.  You can pretty much expect to have all your summer dance floor fantasies fulfilled!

I’ll be back next week say Thursday-ish but no later than Friday with your official 2014 Pride edition, which is guaranteed to please.  Until then …ENJOY!

Ooh La La | Epic Gay Circuit Anthems v1

Ooh La La Circuit Anthems v1

Ooh La La Circuit Anthems v12After promising this series last year, I finally sat down and started compiling these songs and managed to squeeze out four of them.  Ooh La la is the first of the Epic Circuit Anthems and when I say “Epic,” I mean EPIC!

From the late 90s and through the first 8 years of the millennium, DJs began piling on these massive drama-filled remixes for the dance floor.  We see this begin to bubble up in the mid-90s with Tony Moran’s earlier works.  The only difficulty they seem to have was how to handle the drop.

Often times, these remixes would drop about two-thirds of the way and seemingly go nowhere.  This pause was used by live DJs to mix out of the song, even though it would eventually reload the final chorus.  In 1999, that problem was solved by Hex Hector when he dropped Jennifer Lopez’ Waiting For TonightThat song with its slow builds to a massive peak before dropping only to reclaim its power with another slow build to what can only be described as the “ultimate climax.”  Think of it as having sex and reaching that point but you hold back only to slowly build back up before you completely explode.  It’s the first song I can think of that didn’t clear the floor two-thirds of the way in as people eagerly awaited for it to reach it’s heart-pounding, sweaty conclusion.  This was definitely HOT SEX on the dance floor.

Whether it was drama, hands in the air happy anthems or just plain ole fun, the next four sets are representative of the works from some of the BIGGEST DJs of the early millennium.  It comes nowhere close to being complete but is definitely a great start.  Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, Jonathan Peters, Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer and more are at the upper-echelon of the momentous dancefloor movement.  Party Favorz honors their historic work by nailing them down for your personal enjoyment now and years to come.

So let’s step back to a not so distant past and recall all the fun we had dancing to these monumental anthems.  ENJOY!

We Are Family | Gay Pride Anthems 2014 vol. 5

Pride Classics We Are Family

Pride Classics We Are Family 240The weekend is finally here and I’m off work. It’s not only Friday but today is the official kick-off for Pride events going on throughout the country.

As has been the case for the past several years, Atlanta Pride isn’t until October. At first, it felt unnatural to me but then I started to appreciate it more because of the cooler temps. Considering it’s supposed to be 108 tomorrow, I’d definitely count that as a blessing to not be sitting out at the park like a sweaty Betty with all the party people. Besides, I can do that by the pool with an ice chest full of cold brew [grin]

This is the last of the gay/anthem/pride/classics and frankly, I just don’t see myself doing these again in the future. I’ll be more than happy to pull these out and give them a spin without having to recreate them over and over.

The truth is, you seldom get these kinds of big sweeping anthems anymore. Oh, I’ll probably drop in a track or two into a current mix, but no more full-on. Besides, I’ll still be putting out an occasional house classics set or re-post some previous efforts from time to time.

We will be back to the original scheduled programming in a couple of weeks. I’m planning on putting out another electro set, maybe a Beach House and of course the Summer Edition for all the circuit boys.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and until the next time… ENJOY!
