First, I would like to wish everyone a happy New Year and thank you all for the kind words that have been left in my Cbox. There’s more work that goes into this blog than I would have ever imagined.
Not that I’m complaining; on the contrary, I really enjoy doing this. So please keep the comments, suggestions, or requests coming. I’ll do my best to respond. Right now, I’m thinking about changing the name of the site to Party Favorz instead of K j A M Productions. Let me know what you think.
Before I get into the latest Deep Edition, I just want to touch on another very important issue. This will mainly apply to the U.S. folks. From the onset of the presidential contenders throwing their hats into the ring, I’ve been a big fan of Hillary Clinton. Without a doubt, she is a smart and savvy player who would be formidable against any Republican nominee. I like her message and the way in which she carries herself. Anyone that’s read anything about her during the time she was First Lady, knows full well that she’s got the balls to stand up to the Republicans.
The only thing that concerns me is her unwillingness to denounce all the pork spending from Washington; something that John Edwards is a big proponent of ridding from each and every bill passed. In fact, his campaign thus far has not accepted any Pac money. That’s amazing considering his 2nd place finish in Iowa. Then you’ve got Barak Obama.
Several years ago, I saw him for the first time after he was elected Senator of Illinois, on C-Span. He was a very charismatic and eloquent speaker. Needless to say, I was impressed. The only problem I have with him is that I don’t think he’s ready for prime time just yet. He will make an excellent VP for either candidate and can assume the mantle 4 to 8 years after this election. This is just my own personal assessment of the candidates.
More than anything, this is a very important election and I urge everyone eligible to go out and caucus for your candidate of choice. The fact that Hilary and Barak are the front-runners, in and of itself is historic! Whatever the outcome of the primaries, I will throw my full support behind whoever wins as they are all excellent candidates.
Speaking of winners…I’ve got the first Deep Edition mix-up and ready to go! I am so pleased with the overall mix. I should probably call this the Chill Edition, cause that’s exactly what it is. Let’s go down the checklist:
Acid Jazz | √ |
Tickling the ivory | √ |
Big ole Brass | √ |
Groovy Organs | √ |
Trip Hop | √ |
Deep Funk | √ |
Wailing Divas | √ |
Soulful | √ |
Male Singers | √ |
Alternative Beats | √ |
Underground Beats | √ |
Angry Black Women | √ |
Looks like all the ingredients are here. Unlike previous efforts which tend to be more experimental, the complete feel of this mix is laid back and comfy with an overall sense of relaxation and fun. Put this on when you have guests over or you just want to lay around and chill. Enjoy!
Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts.
