January News

Neon HeadphonesI’ve got some good news for everyone (maybe bad for some) regarding new releases. As previously stated, I was building a new computer for which I had been buying parts for all last year but there was a hold up. The motherboard I ordered was missing a cheap piece of plastic that has a chrome coating on it and acts as a dust protector for the connectors. It seems innocuous but it’s the 2nd thing you install before everything else and desktops are notorious dust collectors so it was vital piece. The replacement should be in today and I should have the new build complete tomorrow.

I am proud to say that since I got most parts prior to the inflationary price increases, my $1,800 build would have easily cost $1,000 or more. Certainly if you bought a Dell with the same high-end components it would be twice the price. I even snagged a brand new RTX 3060 graphics card from Microcenter for MSRP. They had them all and limited one per customer with ID because these cards are going for $1,200 to $1,800 on the internet due to a chip shortage and all the crytocurrency miners have bought all the high-end cards up. That was a massive score for me. I could have purchased the 3070 or 3080 but I’m not a gamer and this card works perfectly with my new 34″ LG widescreen, which I bought open box from Amazon and got another $100 off that because it was missing the cables. WIN!

As for the Apple migration: The first thing I had to do was upload my logo, which meets all the specs for Apple requirements (3,000 pixels, PNG). However, they rejected it with the message “Alpha channels are not currently supported” whatever the hell that is. I looked it up and the ways to resolve it are not available in Photoshop Elements or at least not the 2013 version I’m using. I plan on upgrading that shortly but if this is the bullshit I’m going to encounter — it’s too much work for too little reward to have to deal with this crap. Nevermind that if I submit my feed with the same logo, Apple accepts it with no issue. However, they won’t allow a paid subscription to be hosted anywhere else other than on their servers, which means I have to manually upload and backdate almost a thousand episodes one by one. I just don’t have the patience for that. Apple and iTunes users still have a workaround in the support section of this site so I’m going to leave it alone because I’m itching to get back to work.

That being said, it appears we haven’t released a new Disco House and Peak Hour set since October and frankly — it’s time to get this party started. You can expect new releases to start rolling out beginning next week. Until then…ENJOY!
