For 15 years, Party Favorz has generated the biggest compilations featuring the most iconic gay anthems and gay pride classics. In honor of our 15th anniversary and final year delivering the heat, we’re going to drop massive multi-set compilations to memorialize the occasion.
Technically, Party Favorz has been churning out our mixes since 1999 but the actual podcast didn’t start until 2007, which doesn’t change the overall significance these songs and artists represent to our community.
You’ll notice some of the artwork is very political and frankly, some of our best work — especially from 2008 when the gay rights movement — with a new sense of fervor — began to demand equality across all sectors of society. From ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ to ‘Marriage Equality’ everything is represented in the artwork produced for our episodes. Ultimately, these hard-fought goals were achieved and a rather rapid pace during our tenure but I wouldn’t be too complacent just yet.
Unfortunately, there is a rising tide of hatred coming from white nationalists in the United States — a minority of phony Christians that contradict the teachings of their savior Jesus Christ on the daily — and across the globe that much of our hard-fought victories are beginning to erode. The far-right agenda with the help of the activist SCOTUS is slowly eroding those rights under the guise that the Constitution doesn’t specify these inherent rights therefore they should not be upheld.
They started with abortion rights and women’s complete autonomy over their bodies and have now moved on to transgendered care for children by targeting their parents and the facilities that treat these patients. Once they get these solid wins, they undoubtedly will go after contraception and marriage equality as they’ve been telegraphing their goals for decades now but everyone seems to think ‘it can’t happen here.’ You can either speak up now even if it doesn’t affect you or wait until it does. I cannot stress the importance of voting in the 2022 midterms and 2024 no matter how much you think Democrats haven’t achieved. We need to retain our majority in the House and Senate with a couple of extra seats to ensure phony Democrats like Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin aren’t able to block our agenda. I truly fear for this country.
In other news, Party Favorz is now accessible through iTunes (again) and the Apple Podcasts apps as well as the Google Podcasts app. Google added Party Favorz themselves and I went back and re-added the podcast to Apple. Amazon music sent me an email to list my podcast but when I try to verify it — I never get the email. Sorry, I’m not going to waste a lot of time trying to set it up since they reached out to me. The benefits are being able to access the podcast through various devices including your SmartTV (only those that support these apps), car (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay), and Nest.
You still need a subscription through Podbean (or partyfavorz.com) to access the content. Existing subscribers can use these services now. When you follow Party Favorz in these apps, you will be asked for your username (email) and password that you already use to download the podcast. Click ‘remember’ so you don’t have to keep entering the information and you should be golden. If you see negative reviews from people outside of the subscription on these services, please consider writing your review.
There is no set date on when the Gay Anthem sets will start rolling out as we’re still compiling the track list for the first sets. The goal is to get as much out as possible out in May because many Gay Pride celebrations begin early. This will free up June for the annual Catch-Up and possibly a 2022 Pride set featuring the latest circuit anthems. Until then…ENJOY!
