For over a decade, DJ Meme has been at the forefront of the disco revisionist movement. His specialty has been the recreation of the Salsoul sound, strings, horns and all. The man is one of my biggest heroes on the scene today creating the lush soundscapes of yester-year while placing his own stamp on his productions. When you couple these works with his signature Latin beats from his native country of Brazil, DJ Meme produces some of the very finest house this side of the hemisphere.
Since the original release of this two set tribute to his work, DJ Meme’s stature has evolved into a worldwide recognizable brand. His contributions to house music are tremendous and his importance is as great as the sounds in which he has carefully persevered for future generations.
For all these reasons and more, I decided it was time to revisit his work by making available the two tribute mixes originally released in 2009. This sets will definitely ignite the sunshine in your summertime fun. ENJOY!
