Hey folks,
January has felt like a marathon, but somehow we’ve circled back to where we started. Given the current state of the U.S. government, now effectively run by a non-elected billionair South African, and all the uncertainty that brings—I made the tough financial call to cancel all the planned website upgrades and requested refunds. Don’t say I didn’t warn you back in October; I wasn’t being hyperbolic. Everything I predicted is unfolding, and it’s even worse than I imagined.
On a personal note, I’m still grappling with unresolved health issues, thanks in no small part to Humana’s antics. They pulled the rug out from under me by unapproving an already approved set of MRIs last year at the last minute. All of my follow-up appointments, including two with specialists that took over a year to schedule, have been pushed back even further because I haven’t completed the full set of MRIs my neurologist prescribed. Meanwhile, because of Humana’s little stunt, I’m now out $500—compared to the original $200 this was supposed to cost. Is it any wonder people overwhelmingly support Luigi Mangione’s actions? (If you don’t know, look it up.)
With so much uncertainty about what’s going to happen in the country over the next six months, I’ve decided to stick with my current setup, even if it’s been outdated for over a year. The developer has gone MIA, and while whoever is in control patched a few critical things, at this point, my website’s theme is basically held together with bandages and a crutch. Still, I just can’t justify the added expenses when so much is unknown.
The good news is, Party Favorz is back in business. I am splurging in one area—the main DJ service where I get most of my music. That’ll cost me $295 for the year, but it’s cheaper than paying monthly and scrambling to cover the costs, especially since donations aren’t what I’d like them to be. I still use other services and spend a lot of money on Beatport, Traxsource, and Bandcamp to round out these sets. It’s my way of staying on top of the latest releases while delivering sounds you can’t find anywhere else but here.
I thought we’d kick things off with a Club Fusion set, followed by the Winter Edition featuring the biggest Circuit Anthems out at the moment. From there, we’ll cover all your favorites, including Funky House, Chill Out, and Peak Hour. I’ve got some Diva Hall of Fame reworks scheduled for this year. Sadly, I don’t foresee many new diva entries other than, maybe, Chappell Roan—though hers will be limited. There just aren’t many new divas that excite me and NO, I’m not doing Ava Max. Don’t even ask. I’ll also pick up where we left off on the BackSpin series as we move into the latter half of the Millennium. We do have new releases this year from Madonna, Cher, and Lady Gaga. Maybe even RiRi will surprise us, but I sincerely doubt it.
Overall, if I can make it to the end of the year, I think it’ll be a good one. I hope everyone is having the best 2025 they possibly can. I’ll be back later this week as we kick off a new year.
Until the next time…ENJOY!
