All accounts have been reinstated. You may have received an email confirmation for your subscription. Everybody’s accounts were moved into a free trial period based on the date of your last payment less a 30 day billing cycle to keep it consistent with the expected date of your monthly charge. If there were any errors not in your favor, please reach out to me and I will gladly refund any prorated charges you may be due.
Everybody that was still on the introductory offer has now been moved over to the regular price of $2.99 a month. Prices WILL NOT increase as originally planned at least through the end of 2020. In January, I will reassess the needs of the podcast and make a determination at that point.
Several weeks ago, my debit card was used by someone who went on a shopping spree. I caught it quickly and closed the card down. The bank issued a replacement for my card that never arrived. I then had to have them cancel the replacement card and then issue another one, which I just received yesterday and activated this morning. Podbean (the podcast host) does not accept PayPal so when they went to charge my card — it was rejected. Without even notifying me, they cancelled my account, which triggered all of your subscriptions being cancelled by Stripe (the credit card processor). I have since had the Podbean service reinstated.
Regardless, if you already paid for the month everything still works and you DO NOT need to create a new subscription, which many of you are doing. Please don’t do that that. I am in the process of manually reinstating everyone’s subscription but due to the large number of accounts, I won’t be able to finish until tomorrow. If you’ve already re-subscribed, leave it alone and I’ll ensure that you’re not billed twice.
While this was an unfortunate blip in Podbean’s system that I have pointed out to them — it was beyond my control. I just want to ensure that nobody has lost anything and that you can still continue to use the service as I work through tomorrow to get everyone reinstated. Once again — please DO NOT RE-SUBSCRIBE. If you already have — LEAVE IT ALONE. I apologize for any confusion and heart palpitations this may have caused.
