It’s funny because, in my Year-End Edition post last year, I discussed the different direction club music is taking and how disco is making a comeback and has been infused with elements of the eighties and seventies while being served up to an entirely new generation going through similar circumstances like high energy prices, a crappy economy, and war. No doubt we needed Kristine W‘s take on the Diana Ross classic ‘The Boss’ earlier this year and certainly, we need the kind of escapism this remake provides us now.
Listening to the very different offerings in the mixes, you get two ends of the spectrum. Pathos delivers an early evening or T-dance style disco stomper, while Solar City builds on his previous work with Erin Hamilton and moves the song towards a ‘big room’ late evening anthem. I fully expect this song will race up the charts to #1 as the boys in the club will be raising their hands in the air while doing their best Babs or Donna impression. Thankfully Amber & Zelma understand that sometimes we all need to take a deep breath, sit back and relax and then get up and join the party once in a while. Forget about the past, let your hair down, and have some fun! You can purchase the release “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)” on Amazon or Apple Music.
