The Ultimate Bootleg Collection Comes to a Close
Party Favorz closes out this massive Madonna project with The Ultimate Bootleg Collection Volume 3, the final installment of what was originally one five-hour-plus marathon of fan-made remixes, mashups, and personal favorites.
Breaking the original collection into three separate volumes finally gives these tracks the breathing room they deserve while making the entire series much easier to enjoy from beginning to end.
Madonna Bootlegs Across Every Era
Volume 3 continues what made this collection so much fun in the first place — throwing Madonna songs from completely different periods together and letting the remixers find new connections between them.
Dubtronic gives “Secret” a fresh House treatment, while Marco Sartori brings a brighter groove to “Love Profusion.” Division 4 returns with a modern rework of “Erotica,” and Luxar takes “Justify My Love” into much darker electronic territory.
Further into the set, RAY ISAAC revisits the overlooked “Spotlight,” while “Hollywood” and two versions of “Celebration” keep the energy moving before Dirty Disco gives “La Isla Bonita” another dancefloor makeover.
Those are exactly the kinds of remixes I wanted for this collection. They don’t simply slap a new beat underneath Madonna’s vocals. The best ones find another way into the song.
Familiar Hits With a Different Point of View
The final stretch reaches across Madonna’s catalog again with “Everybody,” “Don’t Tell Me,” “Sorry,” “What It Feels Like For A Girl,” and “Keep It Together.”
Dave Audé gives “Don’t Tell Me” a funkier club treatment, Maxim Andreev takes on “Sorry,” and VMC reworks “What It Feels Like For A Girl.” These aren’t necessarily the versions casual listeners know, which is precisely the point.
Bootlegs have always allowed DJs and producers to take liberties that official remix packages sometimes can’t. Some work better than others, but when they hit, they can completely change the way you hear a familiar song.
Closing Out a Madonna Marathon
With The Ultimate Bootleg Collection Volume 3, Party Favorz finally puts a proper ending on one of our biggest Madonna projects.
Between the three volumes of The Ultimate Dance Collection and these three volumes of The Ultimate Bootleg Collection, we’ve covered decades of official remixes, unofficial reworks, fan favorites, deep cuts, and songs that simply deserved another trip around the dancefloor.
And with August being Madonna month around here, the timing couldn’t be better.
There’s always another remix coming. Another bootleg. Another producer who hears something in one of these songs that nobody else did.
For now, though, The Ultimate Bootleg Collection Volume 3 brings this chapter to a close.
Until the next time…ENJOY!
