Amy Grant | The Diva Series

Share

Earlier this year, the Grammy winning C-Pop artist Amy Grant, released her first remix album of some of her biggest hits.  For those of you not familiar with Amy, she was a massive Christian pop star in the 80s and in 1991 released her first crossover album Heart In Motion, which yielded five top 20 singles, two of which went to number one.

While I was never a particular fan of Amy until that album came out, I had a friend back in the day (the nicest guy you'll ever meet), who was a hard-core Christian and a massive fan.  In fact, I can honestly say that's how I even knew who she was until HIM was released.

Without a doubt, her fan base clearly has a huge gay following and just be looking at the DJs that remixed her hits, it appears she covered almost all the bases with a list of whose who in the DJ community.  Heck, she even got Hex Hector on board for one of the songs, which is really rare these days.

Party Favorz would like to welcome Ms. Grant to the DIVA HALL of FAME as a welcome addition in an already crowded field of diversity.

Party Favorz is a series of commercial and underground club mixes that I started making for friends in 1999. In 2007, at the urging of friends, I decided to move everything online and the Party Favorz blog was born. Whether you’re gay, straight, black, white, pink or purple, Party Favorz has no boundaries and everyone IS welcome here. Comments and suggestions are always appreciated; in fact, they are encouraged. Always remember that despite the name tag, Party Favorz DOES NOT promote nor endorse the use of illegal substances. Frankly, house music is the only drug your body needs to have a good time. LIVE, WORK, PLAY DANCE . . . just do it responsibly. Now on to the music! Keith a.k.a. K j A M
