Holiday Edition 2024: Tribal Beats To Sleigh Your Holidays [Updated]

Party Favorz is back with our annual Holiday Edition for 2024, featuring HOT Santas and tribal beats guaranteed to sleigh the season!

This year, I made it a point to weave in some Tea Dance-style tracks to break up the monotony of the tribal-heavy set. Let’s be honest, a lot of what’s been coming out in this space lately is straight-up uninspired — poor mastering, weak vocals, and a glaring lack of creativity compared to the pioneers of the genre. It’s like everyone’s copy-pasting the same blueprint, trying to force a square peg into a round hole.

If you’re going to sell your work on Bandcamp for $5 to $6 a pop, step up your game. Stop churning out the same recycled formula. That said, I’ve been leaning more toward Henriq Moraes, who, at the very least, brings solid production values and avoids that annoying high-pitched sound you hear too often these days. His remixes are fresh, varied, and don’t feel like the same song on repeat. There are a few other producers I keep my eye on, but they’re not as prolific. Even so, Henriq isn’t pumping out new tracks every week, which is how it should be if you want quality.

Mor Avrahami continues to bring the heat with his remixes, as does Dirty Disco. These guys know how to keep it fresh and exciting. But let’s not forget the legends still out there touring, remixing, and schooling the next generation. I’m talking about the likes of Danny Verde, Cajjmere Wray, Nick Harvey, and other masters of the craft. Their experience shows in the style, hooks, and embellishments they add to their remixes. These touches are what separate a “meh” track from one that slays.

Standout Moments & Must-Listen Tracks

Speaking of Danny Verde and Tom Stephan — these two veteran producers joined forces to reimagine Lady Gaga’s “Disease,” and the result is nothing short of masterful. While there’s no shortage of mediocre (and outright bad) remixes of this track, their darker, moodier approach cuts through the noise. The remix leans into a shadowy, underground vibe, amplifying the song’s raw intensity. The undeniable hook pulls you in from the jump and refuses to let go, making their version a clear standout in a sea of forgettable attempts.

On a related note, Nick Harvey recently dropped an entire EP of remixes for “Stand Up” by Suzanne Palmer. This one caught me off guard — not only for the quality but for the names attached. Two standouts are the mixes from Cajjmere Wray and the elusive Eddie Baez. Yes, that Eddie Baez. I didn’t even know he was still active in the scene! Both versions are stellar, but I had to roll with Eddie’s for nostalgia’s sake. It’s good to hear him back in the game, and if this is a sign of things to come, I’m all in.

Another blast from the past comes from the production team 7th Heaven, who dropped Mirrorball Anthems featuring camp and queer classics sung by some of the biggest divas of the past 50 years. If you need a dose of Hi-NRG fun, I’ve included their rework of the Sylvester classic “Do Ya Wanna Funk featuring the powerhouse vocals of Katherine Ellis, plus their update of “How Long” by Linda Clifford. This is just a taste of what’s on the full release, and if you’re a fan of high-octane disco-fueled bangers, you need to check it out.

Holiday Hits That Sleigh!

A huge shoutout goes to Dirty Disco, who delivered what may be the definitive remix of “DJ Play a Christmas Song” by Cher and Kelly Clarkson. Last year, Dirty Disco skipped this one in favor of another track from Cher’s Christmas album, but this time, with Kelly in the mix, the energy is undeniable. The remix has that classic 7th Heaven/Almighty feel — pure festive fun that instantly puts you in a holiday mood.

Other standouts worth adding to your playlist:

  • Mor Avrahami — just about anything he touches lately.
  • Alex Ramos remix of “Touch Me” by Eliad Cohen and Riki Ben Ari — pure fire.
  • Henriq Moraes remix of “APT.” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars — yes, it’s as good as it sounds.
  • Jean Milla’s bootleg of “Where Have You Been” by Rihanna — a welcome rework of a classic.
  • Junior Senna’s remix of “I Feel Love” by Robbie Carrigan — a fresh spin on a timeless hit.
  • Weehs Michelini’s remix of “Guess” by Charli XCX and Billie Eilish — a smooth blend of two distinct styles.
  • Brady Prince remix of “Can’t Get Enough” by Soulsearcher — a funked-up groove that gets under your skin.
  • Shlomi Mor remix of “Say You Love Me” by Winnie Pootz — an update to the Hannah Jones 90’s classic “You Only Have To Say You Love Me”.

Honorable mention goes to “F^ck You On a Train To Paris” by Eran Tal. I can’t even describe this one — you just have to hear it for yourself.

Final Thoughts

This year’s Holiday Edition 2024 is a well-rounded set designed to keep you engaged from start to finish. It gives you what you want without falling into that repetitive, predictable trap that too many sets fall into these days. I’m not here to bore you — I’m here to light your dancefloor on fire.

It’s been cold as hell here in Georgia, but there’s a brief warm-up this weekend before we’re back to bone-chilling temps. If it’s freezing where you’re at, crank up Holiday Edition 2024 — I promise it’ll heat you up!

Until next time… ENJOY!
