Party Favorz is cranking up the gears and getting back on track. What better way to kick things off than Volume I of the Ultimate Kylie Minogue Diva Series?
Why Kylie Minogue Belongs on the Dance Floor
Kylie Minogue has sold more than 80 million records worldwide. From “I Should Be So Lucky” to “Padam Padam,” she has kept finding new ways to reach the dance floor. To millions of gay fans around the world, the Princess of Pop is in a class of her own—even alongside Madonna, the Queen of Pop. Kylie
Kylie’s Las Vegas residency at the Venetian gave fans another chance to see that catalog in an intimate setting. Then came the moment many of us had waited years to see: Kylie joined Madonna on the Celebration Tour for Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” and Kylie’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” pitchfork.com
I can no longer attend concerts, but watching two of my all-time favorite divas perform together brought tears to my eyes. I rarely get emotional over artists, even the ones I love. This one hit me hard.
The Ultimate Kylie Minogue Diva Series
Here at Party Favorz, we’ve celebrated Kylie before. This is her third induction into our Diva Hall of Fame, following the kind of career-spanning tribute we’ve also given Madonna.
Across two volumes, the Ultimate Kylie Minogue Diva Series brings together her biggest hits, newer releases, and collaborations. You’ll hear original remixes alongside a few bootlegs that give familiar songs a different pulse. The goal is a seamless Kylie Minogue dance music tribute where her classics and recent tracks feel right at home together.
Volume II follows this installment, with even more Kylie on the way.
A Note About Downloads and Supporting Party Favorz
In my last post, I said downloads would require a $10 donation per volume. I can set that up, but I don’t have the time right now while juggling other issues and keeping the podcast running. These two volumes—and the rest of this year’s releases—will remain free for everyone to enjoy.
I do need to address something else. A couple of people have reposted Party Favorz mixes to Mixcloud and House-Mixes.com as their own work. Please stop. Those reposts pull listeners away from this site and make it harder to sustain a podcast that donations already don’t fully cover. I’d rather ask you directly than spend my time filing takedown notices.
After Volume II, Party Favorz will be back at full capacity. I’m timing the renewal of my DJ service so it carries us through the Top Dance Songs of the Year releases. If you enjoy these sets and haven’t donated, please consider helping keep the music going.
Until the next time…ENJOY!
